House Of The Small Fountain, Pompeii (VI,8,23)

Fountain and garden of an atrium-style house, with roofs sloping inward toward the courtyard, allowing water to be collected in a cistern. The walls around the garden have frescoes depicting maritime buildings. The fountain-nymphaeum is covered with mosaics and small sculptures, in a style that became popular in the 1st century CE.
